I am beyond happy to announce the premiere of "AS BRABAS DO FUNK" on Friday 21st of April, 20H00 at the movie theater "L'Arlequin", 76 Rue de Rennes, 75006.

Join us for the movie premier followed by a DJ Set by Funk DJ Marara Kelly, performance by Isis Oliveira and brazilian food by Petiscos open all the nigth.

"AS BRABAS DO FUNK" is my first feature-length documentary which was shot in 2021. It takes the viewers on a 50-minute journey into the music scene and the favelas of Rio's favelas in the 70s an has always been tainted with many prejudices ; the music and its artists are accused of gloryfying drugs and violence as well as sexism.
The film sheds ligth on the female perspective of this male-dominate music scene, showing the everyday life of five women who work as DJs, dancers, singers and agents.
