A year after the terrible attacks that left 130 victims and 413 injured in Paris – of whom 90 were killed inside the venue – Bataclan will finally reopen its doors to music.

Re-opening with a Pete Doherty concert the week before, Bataclan will then host an electronic music night to be remembered with no other than Laurent Garnier and Arnaud Rebotini. Parisian young guns Voiron and Gordon will also perform back to back on this special occasion. This is very good news since it may anticipate the return of techno clubbing in this place like no other in Paris.

Between 1982 and 1984, the « Bata » used to be the theater of a very specific musical melting pot, where the freshest new music released in Afro-beat, electro-funk and hip-hop scenes were sure to be played. Since then it became an essential venue for international artists performing in Paris. The November 24th event produced by talent agency A.K.A is bound to become a true symbol, with a line-up promoting French creativity and the healing desire to party against all odds.

Of course Laurent Garnier needs no more introduction and his presence is nothing but a surprise: being a lifetime attorney for music creation and artistic freedom turns him into the perfect act for such a night.

Same applies to Arnaud Rebotini, an authentic genius when it comes to machines and one of the godfathers of the French « avant-garde » electronic music scene. They will be assisted by Voiron, who’s starting fires everywhere these days with his raw synth-driven acid techno reminiscent of rave’s most enlightened years.

It’s also a real pleasure to see him play with Gordon. As a DJ and producer on the soon to be 10 years old French label InFiné and a regular performer at Rex Club, La Machine du Moulin Rouge or Point Ephémère, Gordon might be the last on our list but definitely one of the most exciting.

Check out the Facebook event. We’ll be there to party.
